May 30-31

It was an interesting weekend down in Tennessee for the two Juniors on the team. Chris and Waylon headed down to the Edgar Soto race which was the Junior World Championships Trials. It consisted of an 18k time trial on Saturday and a 76 mile road race on Sunday. Waylon placed 34th and Chris placed 42nd out of 51 riders.

Waylons main focus was the road race on Sunday hearing that he was going to be going this race four days prior and registering just in time. It was a very warm 85 degrees and the field was packed with many talented riders, 71 to be exact. It was 11 miles out to the 22? mile loop with some pretty tough climbs and technical descents. The group was quickly broken up after some attacks went off and the pace picked up on the climbs. With 1.5 laps to go Waylon had a very frustrating mechanical where his front derailleur came very loose not allowing him to finish the race with the 20-25 guys that were left in the main group chasing down a 3 man break that was caught later that lap. Chris Wiatr finished 44th overall which was very nice.

On Saturday Caroline and Tomek both took Golds and the Chiropractic Criterium in Wisconsin. Caroline won in the Ladies CAT 4 and Tomek won out of a 4 man break in the Masters 30+ 1/2/3 race.

Nathan and Tomek punched out 1-2 in the cat.1/2 race. Tomek broke away right at the beginning of the race. After 5 laps the peloton caught him then Nathan went solo and one lap later Tomek went for another break

In the cat. 5 race, James won a big field sprint getting his upgrade to cat.4 right on the spot. Then, about a hour later he took second place in Masters 4/5.

Racing in Wisconsin, Sussex Crit, Chris Gola finished second in Masters 3/4 race. Later that day, unfortunately, he crashed in the cat.3 race...Chris is OK. Dennis has found last years fitness and took two 9th places in cat.4 and Master 4/5. Albeiro had great finish in cat.4 race, taking 11th place.

We had a solid group of guys go to the Kansasville time trial this Sunday. Reed, Brian, Jeff, Doug, and Derric made the trek where ever this was held :). Reed pulled off a 4th place the in the CAT 1/2's and then the in 3's we pulled off 2nd-3rd-4th- and 5th place in the order of Brian, Jeff, Doug, and Derric.

Results will be posted shortly as well for this weekends races!

This weekend WDT-Allvoi was spread around the midwest racing. The majority of the guys were at the ABD Masters race weekend, Waylon and Nate made it out to Melon City and Quad Cities while Voytek and Chris made the hike up to Minnesota for the Duluth Cycling Classic.

Chris Wiatr had a good showing in Duluth for the Cat 4's. Chris placed 8th in the 16.2 time trial the first day, then racing solo, he picked up a 5th and a 2nd in the two road races placing 3rd overall.

Nate had a very hard race in the P/1/2 field in Melon City. The field started 135 strong and it seemed like every lap of the 40 laps they did around the 1 mile course there were 1-2 rides dropping out after the climb. Nate stayed strong the whole race then got taken out in a crash about 100 meters from the line on last lap in the sprint. That ended the race for him but luckily he is only a little sore and there were no serious injuries.

Waylon did the Cat 3 race in Melon City on Sunday with a field of around 73 riders. He ended up getting 8th when it came down to a field sprint managing to stay out of two crashes towards the top of the climb and around the bend at the top by the finish. Waylon also raced Monday at Quad Cities where there was a field of about 75 in the Cat 3's race. It had started drizzling a little before the race which made the course a little slick around the corners and it proved to be a little dangerous the first few laps as people were crashing out that didn't know how to take the corners. A two man break successfully stayed away and Waylon took 4th in the field sprint and 6th overall.

Tomek took 5th overall in the 30+ in the ABD series this weekend while Ricardo took 5th overall in the 40+. Dave Polin took 4th place twice this weekend, once in the 30+ and once again in the 40+. Albeiro did very well taking his first 10th place in the 30+ on the Monday wood dale criterium.

The rest of the results will be up shortly from this weekend.
