June 2009 News

June 18-29

These dates held the inaugural Tour of Americas Dairyland. No one from WDT-Allvoi did the entire series but for the races they did they made quite a ruckus.

The first day was "Blue Mound Race of the Future". This course is the proposed road race course for the 2016 Olympics with 2200 feet of climbing each lap. Waylon raced in the 3's here and managed to take 5th where the field was shattered on the uphill finish.

The second day was the Waterloo Classic in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Waylon raced here as well rolling in for 18th.

The third day was was the very popular Giro D' Grafton in Grafton, Wisconsin. This is a very nice course and well put on race. Waylon raced the 3's here and placed 2nd missing first by just a foot or two.

Finally the fourth day of racing was in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It was a criterium where Chris Gola and Ricardo Otero raced and took two spots on the podium, Ricardo taking 2nd and Chris Gola taking 3rd.

Skipping to the following Saturday Ricardo went on up to the ever popular Downer Ave race and took the top spot on the podium in the 3's! Congrats Ric.

June 6-7

Another weekend down and we have a Wisconsin State road race champion! Caroline won the womens CAT 4 in Wisconsin yesterday. Congrats Caroline!

Now lets get back to Saturday in Winfield for the Twilight crit.

In the CAT 4 race Chris Jr. had an unfortunate crash (he is OK) while James finished 7th.

Waylon ended up getting in a break with Ryan Freund (ABD) with 5 to go in the 2/3 race andit stuck with Waylon taking second. The rest came down to a field sprint with Ricardo taking 5th in the sprint for 7th overall.

For the P/1/2 race Tomek ended up taking a solid 8th place and Nate came in for 18th. From what I hear it was a very hard race.

Fast foward to Sunday once again. As stated above Caroline has received the State Champion title. J
ames also had a very nice race placing 4th in the CAT 4 race.

Now some of the guys went to Winfield for the ABR National Champion race. In the CAT 3 race waylon ended up taking 3rd when it came down to a field sprint while Ricardo and Chris Gola placed a very nice 7th and 8th place.

In the P/1/2 race, yet another very difficult race, Nate placed 14th, Tomek 15th, and Dave 18th.
